I had a LEO run a yield sign today and he was going to fast.I had to lock up the breaks and do a dirt track slide to keep from hitting him.I have had simular things happen lately.Got me kind of spooked and freaked about riding.I made myself ride another 20 mins but it did not help.Just needed to vent.Thanks.

Out of curiosity, was he running lights and siren? If NOT, I would be making an appointment to complain to the Chief of Police.
He was not running hot just in a hurry. He slide a ways also.He was very up set at what he had done.I live in a small town and could say something but would probally get screwed with.
How about this: Go to the Station, ask to speak to him and simply say "Dude.....I know that sometimes you have emergencies to respond to, but you almost created another emergency the other day. PLEASE be careful. I know you wouldn't want the death of another to be on your concience."
If he is 1/2 the man I think he is, he will agree with you, and walk away with a lesson learned.
I would be more affraid if I didn't get spooked. I think it helps keep us on the edage you need to be to ride, with all the idiots in cages talking on cell phones, reading papers, putting on make-up...... they aren't paying attention so someone has to.
Like about ten minutes ago when my wife and I were on our way home from dinner. Four lane through a country area after dark and a deer runs out in front of me (about ten foot ahead of me). I didn't see him coming from the side of the road and didn't even have time to tap the brakes. Luckily he was just far enough ahead of me and he didn't freak and turn like they do sometimes.
Always considered myself fearless..but a lowly drop from asphaltto grass made me rethink my riding habits too..maybe it's good we have a little fear since it helps us anticipate danger?...that's the way we're wired regardless and rightly so..
