Does anyone have an engine guard with foot pegs?? I have an 03 XL883C and am thinking of getting one, but I'm curious to know how it looks on the Sportster's narrow frame. Any pics would be great!
I have to agree if it were "just" the engine guard as the only accessory on a Sportster. My 1200 C is set up as a mini-bagger. I have bags, windshield and mini back rest. With that configuration I don't feel the engine guard looks out of place
I will soon. I am waiting for my pegs to arrive. I will post some pics once they are installed.
I went on a 280 mile ride a week ago and pegs on the engine guard sure would have been nice. I put my feet out there anyway to stretch so why not have pegs to rest them on.
If you don't get any other posts, I can post a picture when I get home. They look fine with saddlebags. Otherwise, IMHO, they do look oddly wide compared to the rest of the bike.
I have an 05 1200C and have Lindby Highway bars a Memphis Shade windshield, backrest and throw-over tourmaster saddlebags. I think it looks like a small bagger but on a stripped down sportster I think they look out of place.

I have a Lindby Linbar on my Sporty, and it has built-in foot rests of sorts, and they also sell attachable outside pegs as well for it.
I'll try to attach a pic of it if I can get it to work.
I get leg cramps quite often on longer rides, and when I doI just flop my legs over the bars in whatI call my 'easy chair position,' and it helps out alot; although it drives some of my friends nuts.
I have a 1999 Sportster 1200 Custom. I just put some highway pegs on the engine guard. I had the same worry that you have about if they will look "funny." I think they look alright on minebut my bike is set up more for"touring." The pegs are chrome and so is the engine guard so they blend in pretty well. The mounting brackets are the $40 chrome standard kit from Harley.
I've attached some pictures below. These are terrible pictures because they're taken of my bike after my wreck. I had only had the pegs on for about 3 days so these are the only pictures I have. I thinkthey will give you a general idea.
