I started out removing the top pipe of my Short Shots. Then I removed the rear brake master cylinder and bracket, removed forward control brake pedal and off comes the sprocket cover. This is an easy chop to do with a hack saw and a couple of files.
I had the ugly brake light lens off my bike when I chopped the rear fender so I cut it and used it behind the chopper cross.
After cutting the cover in half I marked out my design and started cutting.
I cut it along a brace in the back side.
Now it is ready to insert red lens behind cross.
Cutting lens cover.
View in front.
Rear view I wish my pipes were in a different location but I still like it.
Great idea. Nice cutting. Had any thoughts about a LED behind the red lens?
It would be costly to change my bike to be able to use LED. I like to do low cost or no cost chops to my bike. This was a no cost chop. When the sun hits the red lens my sprocket glows red so I'm happy the way it is.
I am doing a chain conversion next then I will chop the cam cover. My bike came with tons of chrome parts and covers that I am gradually removing. Now I don't like my short shots soooo here I go again. It never ends.
