I selected depends on the weather - but also how far I'm traveling and how fast. If I'm just riding around town in the summer I wear a half helmet. For any real riding though, especially at higher speeds or distance, or less than perfect weather I usually wear my Shoei J-Wing 3/4 with a smoked shield.
Crazy Dave,
I'd get the #@$% out of that state in which the helmet law is "manditory"! I live in CT....and couldn't imagine being told I had to wear one. I'm thinking of heading southwest in a few years becasue I'm tired of the short riding season we have up here in New England. With that being said...whatever state it is thatI relocate to....has to have the use of a helmet as optional.

I use to say "man...that dude riding without a helmet on is F'n crazy". After trying it once....I was hooked. Now figure this though. 99.8% of my rirding is done on nice rolling country roads not screwing up some highway. My wife asked me after she had only been riding for a few months if she could take her helmet off. I said "go ahead...it's your melon"
I have a full-face, ever since I had an old one that protected me in a 50mph crash; it had a big filed-down spot where my left ear is, and a big chunk missing from the chin (where my front teeth are). Gotta admit I ride a little dirt bike around the (dirt road) neighborhood WITHOUT one sometimes, though!
