I got to take out a 2016 Roadster for a test ride this morning. They let me take it out alone and gave me a rout, which included Interstate travel, to measure the milage for them so they can use it for future test rides. I gotta say this bike is smooth on the freeway! It was a good ride in town and on the freeway. (Disclaimer: the following comment is intended as a joke. Not being serious here and it is a random number. Keep your panties dry.) It did top out at 107 mph and started hitting the rev limiter so it wouldn't go anymore but was fun nonetheless. In all seriousness, this bike was a blast to ride stock, with a few mods this bike would be awesome to ride! I really wish this bike was made in 2012 when I bought mine. Oh well... I still love my bike and can't wait to get it back outta the shop already so I can raise some hell.

You ran a new bike that you were not going to buy up to 107?? I'll bet the guy that does buy it wouldn't be too happy about that. That's why I won't buy one that has any miles on it.
My local dealer doesn't allow test rides on new bikes for exactly that reason, they do have the demo days truck there twice a season so I'm going this year just to ride the Roadster.
When I bought my 2015 48, they had the amber whiskey color in stock(which is what I wanted) but the bike had 74 miles on it. So I told them I wanted one with 0 miles on it so they had to get it from another dealership but I didn't care cuz both of them sitting there were the same price. I can only imagine how hard it was ran in those 74 miles considering test rides at that dealership are less than 10 miles. And you ain't supposed to beat on them in the first 500 mile break in period and I'm sure test riders did.
It topped out at 107? Does the new roadster have 883 gearing? I topped my 2015 Iron out at about 112 indicated and I thought the 1200's were supposed to hit at least 120. I will say it is not right doing that to a new bike.
It was meant as a joke I guess I should have put a haha in there. I would not run a bike that is not mine that fast. It was a very nice ride though. Oh and this was a demo truck bike. Im sure they know better than to let peopel ride their brand new bikes. Mine only had 3 miles on it when I got it feom the same dealer. Either way I'm not gonna abuse a bike that is not mine.

really??.... 107.... top end ...and was a joke?? pulled that number, outta where? sounds like you beat on it and did find top end.....you should be proud, that's why so many dealerships won`t let you test ride till you buy....thank you

Haha. Exactly a random number. Wow... didn't mean to offend anyone. Would have expected a yeah right response but i guess not. Didn't think people would seriously believe that but I guess your more gullible than I thought.
Im sure demo bikes get a lot of abuse but im not about to risk crashing one and having to pay for it or kill myself riding one. Come on people lighten up a bit and laugh once in a while. It will do you some good. And to those offended my apologies.

Haha well that explains a lot. I was wondering how the hell it topped out at 107 when an 883 can go faster. Glad you cleared that up. People probably didn't get it because the Roadster is different in a lot of ways and who knows maybe the gearing was different.

I don't know about the graring differences or similarities between the two nor do I really know what a Roadster would top out at but I would assume quite a bit more than 107 if my 48 would do 120 no problem before the upgrade. I just got people a bit more wound up than I anticipated with that comment. I would like to find out when I own one or when someone who does own one chimes in and tells us what it really can do but until then, the world may never know. Hope everyone having a hear attack ate some Bayer Asprin and chilled out.
