Default Upgrades

Recently purchased a 06 sportster 1200 and am looking for some suggestions on new exhaust pipes, seat, and foot rests.

Perhaps more information would help:
Exhaust - full system, slip-ons, 2 in 1 , 2 in 2, etc.
Seat - solo, 2-up, comfort, low-profile, reduce reach, back support etc
foot rests - type-HD, billet, blackout, chrome, mini-floorboards

A good place to start researching is DK Customs (the sporty forum sponsor)...excellent products and awesome customer service.
My preferences are Rush and Bassani for exhaust, Mustang for seat, HD and DK for foot rests, and Kuryakyn for hand grips, DK and Kuryakan for AC, DK/Fuelmoto for tuner....but these are personal preferences.

Check out this thread to see/hear some exhaust systems

You can also do a search on the sporty forum - i.e. exhaust, seat, footpegs

You will get a lot of opinions....make the bike your own - do your research...it's part of the fun. Good luck

Welcome to the Forum and from NC.

You have a Low/Roadster with mid controls or a Custom with forwards? This determines the style pipes for you.

I love seeing these 06 Sporties pop up. I'm not biased I swear. Welcome to the forum, we like pics here. There's a lot if information and opinions to be found so do some research and ask whatever ya want. We may give ya crap about certain questions being answered a thousand times and such, but hey we're bikers lmao.

I have an '06 as well.

I don't know if any are still available, but with the 04-06 models, you can sometimes find full exhausts that the manufacturer discontinued, because they don't have the o2 sensors for the 07 and up models. I got a new set of Cycle Shack "M" pipes, a full exhaust, for under $80 shipped on Amazon.

Footrests - I tried a couple different ones and ended up with the DK customs BMX style, they are kind of like a mini floorboard... without being a floorboard.

Seats, again I've tried a few. After swapping out my rear shocks and front springs for progressives, the stock seat wasn't so bad on my "C" model. I replaced with a LaPera Sorrento for 2 up riding, and it's been great, recommended.
