My son ran his 48 out of gas , now he can't get it started . He lives in Florida and I'm in NJ so I can't get hands on to help him. Any help on what could be the problem would be great Thanks
I don't think there is any particular priming needed, did he cycle the fuel pump a couple times? it might take a minute of cranking to push the air out of the lines and start getting fuel at the injectors.
Thanks...just wanted to identify whether carb or EFI
I agree with the previous posts that the bike needs help getting the fuel circulating into the system and it will eliminate a fuel issue if it doesn't...so yes shoot starting fuel to get it started and prime the system.
But when you say it doesn't start, does he hear the pump working when he turns on the switch...does the starter turn when he hits the start button. In other words it trying to start?
He is getting spark , he will try starting fluid today He said the fuel pump is making a noise like it's not getting fuel , we are thinking since the bike sits a lot that with this crap they put in gas now it could have a clogged fuel filter
So the bike was low on gas and went to start it up, but it idled for 5 seconds and just died. I filled the tank after the hurricane passed and the bike wouldn't start. It'll crank but never turns over. The most I'd get was a quick pop or backfire.
It gets spark, and I do hear the fuel pump, although it does sound different than normal. It starts up fine with starter fluid, but dies soon after as it's not getting gas. Verified all fuses are good and put fuel treatment in the tank for good measure.
Seems it's not getting any fuel. Any other ideas besides clogged fuel filter? Gonna pull the tank tomorrow
