Anyone besides me notice the decline in motorists in their towns, lately? I noticed about a 50% decrease in traffic today; it looks like the gas prices are starting to take its toll among joy riding cagers. Looks like a lot of people have cut way back on non-essential driving.
The roads were very pleasant today, because of it! 'didn't have to fight my way through traffic today.
I think the decrease in traffic is related to people taking an early holiday... Demand for gasoline is increasing steadily and out-pacing supply, which is in part what is holding prices high.
Not here, traffic gets heavier and heavier everyday. I expect tomorrow to be light, a lot of folks will take off work to extend the Memorial Day Weekend. That is quite possibly what might have happened today where you live.
If the demand drops, the prices will go down at the pump. Crude oil prices have been dropping for the last several weeks. The reason for the increase in price at the pump is because there have been no refineries build in the US since the middle 70's. Gotta have those to turn cude oil into gasoline.
I haven't really noticed because I just got transferred to a new hospital site that's only 7 MILES FROM MY HOUSE!! Man, I haven't been that close to work in over 14 years. One of the guys I work with is sick of the high gas prices and is contemplating a bike; I'm grooming him for a Sportster.
Too much traffic here in New England, even with gas prices through the roof.
I used to think motorcycles were a cool way to travel, but with the price at the pumps working toward $4 per gallon, I'm starting to think it's the ONLY way to travel.
I can fill my Sporty with the best **** I can find for about $6.50 - - my Nissan XTerra, however, is more like $40....
So hopefully Zeb is right and traffic is thinning out, because I plan to use the Harley more than the cage.
