Hey all. New to the forum and LED lights and need a little help with some things. I recently installed a LED headlight and already had LED taillight. As soon as I turned the bike(it's a 2007 xl1200R)on, the brake light stopped working and I popped a fuse. My question is: do I need a load equalizer if I'm not doing LED turn signals?
No, you don't need a load equalizer, that is to fool your flasher unit into thinking that it still has conventional bulbs in the indicator lights. If you popped a fuze that indicates there is either a wiring error, or possibly a damaged wire, may even be that there is a fault in the new tail-light.
I recently purchased a LED headlight and it kept popping the fuse. Returned it and got another one and all was good, no more fuse popping. There is a possibility that your new light is defective or a pinched wire/wiring issue.
