Hi all. Quick question about the headlight adjustment on a '07 Sportster. I noticed tonight that my headlight beam veers to the right when my handlebars are straight ahead when i checked it low and behold the actual nacelle is pointed to the right (not the mounting bracket, the the lens assembly that the bulb sits in. I noticed a little cover looking thing on the top of the braket that appears to be the only thing the headlight is attached to. If I try and remove the circular cover, will I be able to reposition the nacelle?
If I remember right, the light beam has two notches on the back, they have to be line up to the light housing. The thing is, if the notches aren't line up, you will likely not able to put the trim ring on. Take the trip ring out, make sure the beam sits properly.
If they didn't line up the light in the factory, that means the headlight wasn't aligned properly, after you fix the light, you may have to align it again. I do not have the 07 spec, put your bike 25 ft. away from the wall, must be on a level, the center of the light spot height should be 35 inches, again this is 04-06 spec, should be close enough.
EDIT: I figured out the headlight. I pooped the round cover off the top of the fairing and saw the big nut sutting under there. Ill take it to my work and play around with it.
