Default Handlebars question...

Seen a couple bobbers where it looks like they just flip the OE sportster bars around and mount them angled down...is there anything special I would need to do for this or is it as simple as flipping them and remounting controls? I've attatched a picture for reference.

Wow, that's amazing, it looks totally old school. If you plan to do that, I suggest you to make a plan what your bike is going to look like. That handlebar looks good on the bike but you got to do a lot more than just a handlebar to make yours look old school, know what I mean? Must be hard on lower back lol.

The riding position looks hunched over so not for me..but hey, try it and post some pics - I'd be interested to see how it'd look. [sm=smiley20.gif]

Most handlebars are dimpled so the accessories fit better. I can't tell from the picture, but he may have had to dimple them himself. If you look at the master cylinder, it looks like it will be a pain to fill it. If things like that don't bother you, I can't think of anything that would have to change, with the exception of possibly shortening the cables/lines.

It looks like he has a pretty good riser on there, if you just flip them with the stock riser I think it would be too low.

Oh i plan on making drastic changes to the looks of my bike in the very near future, I love the old-school look, so everything's gettin chopped, wrapped, tossed outand blacked-out lol. I have a set of 4" risers on the way that I think should do the trick. I was planning on doing drag bars but this just has more character and has more appeal I think. Thanks for the input, I'm definately gonna check out how everything will mount up and see if this will work. I'll have pics upby Sundayeither way...got a long beer drinkin' and wrenchin' weekend ahead of me, should be fun.

I know... each to his own...

But that is a little far out for me... can't see how you could ride more than a few minutes at a time... lol
