Default PRIMARY QUAD RING
DOES anyone else have trouble keeping the quad ring in place while replacing the the Derby cover. My 95 XLH is trouble. The primary has notches to hold the ring but dont work very well.

How about four tiny blobs of grease on the back of the seal to hold it in place while youinstallit.

what type of grease, not so sure that is any better than what i have with the notches, thanks though

Doesn't matter as you would use a very small amount, just enough to make it stick there long enough for assembly. I havn't needed to use it on a derby cover as such but have used that trick in lots of other repairs over the years.
