Hey everyone. New member here. I'm bobbing out a friends 2009 883 Sportster and I've run into a snag.
I've picked up a fender edge light from HD.com ( Part Number: 73420-11). Anyone have any experience pluggin' one of these bad boys into the stock board on a 2007-2009 883 and running it as the only brake/tail light?
The stock brake light is a 4 pin plug (with only the three wires going in). The edge light plug is a 3 pin (with the same three wires going in). There's a 3 pin socket on the board, in addition to the 4 pin stock brake light socket. When I plug the edge light into the 3 pin that it fits, it's doesn't act as the brake light. Do I need to splice the 4 pin connector onto the edge light and plug it into the 4 pin stock brake light socket to get it acting as the brake light?
Ugh. Riddles. Any help would be appreciated. I can post pics if it helps. But something tells me there's some serious 883 knowledge on this forum that can point me in the right direction.
