Last year my 04 1200XLC sat in the garage most of the year. When I finally started riding it in the fall there was constant hesitation even after it was warmed up. I had the dealer clean the carb. There was a lot of improvement but it still hesitates during the first 20 minutes or so of riding. After it's completely warmed up it runs ok with only a few sporatic hesitations (feels like an engine cutoff). Does this behavior have a specific solution? My thoughts are:
1. If one of the jets (slow speed jet?) is still gummed up, would it act like that even after the bike is warmed up? If it's gummed up it seems like it should hesitated during and after warm up.
2. If there's still crude getting pass the fuel filter why would the hesitation lessen after the bike warms up?
Would appreciate your advice on this. I love this bike. It ran like a dream the first two years and this is bugging me. Seems like a simple matter to correct.
