I just had my 1st anniversary with the Sporty last week. Had lots of rain last year and only logged7,100 the first year on it. I was wondering what folks are averaging?
I wouldn't have remembered the exact date I bought my bike, except it was on April 1st. There were a lot of comments about buying a motorcycle on "April FOOL'S day". That was in 2006. This year on April 1st, as I was riding, I clicked over to the total milage odemeter, and it clicked over 15,000, I probably only addedanother 20 or so that evening.
I see you fear gravel.I ride back a 1/2 mile loose gravel driveway to my shop everyday and the stuff is deep.Scares the hell out of me.I did find out 10 mph is better than a lower speed on gravel though.I tense up and have to make myself relax because when you are tense you oversteer on gravel from your muscles being too tight.I don't even want to think about how my bike is going to look after this year.I hear the little rocks pinging off of everything.I have to ride though.

I have a Horseshoe shaped gravel drive. Since we don't get enough rain to really keep it wet, the gravel never settles and packs. I dropped 2 of my 4 bikes, once each, in my driveway before Ibeat the gravel gremlin.

To answer your initial question, I logged approx. 12K last year, but I must admit, Blackie, your to be admired, withthe gravel and all. Yourtough on two wheels, black widows, gravel, spills. You are one determined lady, good on ya!
