Alright all so question is a tachometer a universal thing for the most part? I'm looking to dual cup my '15 Sporty. There's usually a few on eBay, this one in particular(PN: 67348-04D) says it fits 04-08 Sporties for around a hundred bones, but before I buy it I want to know if I can make it work. Thanks for the help everyone!

i dont see why a tachometer from 04 wouldn't fit a 04-13 bike. I don't know if there was a change to the upper harness in 14, when all the rest of the changes took place.
look at the standard (single guage) harness on the newer bikes and see if it is the same as the standard harness on the older bikes. If so, it's a go. If not... you'll have to fool with the witres and tap into the tach signals ... as well as build a wire for the tach. Sounds harder than it is.
Looks like most of the parts/terminal are the same but, you will probably need to build a tach line. After that, tap the tach lines on to the harness. Its do able on canbus. Folks do it on dynas all day long. Fk hd for trying to force folks in those stupid combo units. Nothing better than a real tach.
old harness may work but you'll have the old odo button to deal with. Could seap out the speedo backing and have it there as a dummy. Would test it before spending money though. Dont as a young parts guy... they'll just tell you "no" because they are too mentally indolent to do the leg work.
