First, if the module you install causes the rear turn signal lamps to act as a running light/brake light the lenses need to be changed to "red" to be legal in most states.
Kuryakyn makes a module that is about $5 more than the HD unit. It makes the rear turn signal lights act as a running light, turn signal light & brake light. Unlike the HD unit, when you first apply the brakes, the Kuryakyn causes all 3 rear lights to flash 3 times before going to solid ON. This really helps get the attention of the driver behind you. I've tried both the HD & Kuryakyn and really like the Kuryakyn unit.
Before you make your decision, ask yourself one question, why do you need 3 brake and running lights? You want people to see you better, right? When I install the auxiliary light module, I left the old smoke lenses on and see how they look, they looked ok but that's not what I want, I want to be more visible, that's why I swap them with the red. Either way is fine, do whatever you like.
There are TWO versions from HD. The newest puts rear signals ON at all times and also has brake light (dual filament). The earlier version just added turn signal to brake light feature. Either way it is a dynamite addition and a bargain by HD standards. I use rear red lenses on both my bikes and actually think it looks better than smoked in rear, my fronts are smoked with amber lenses, but the 3 reds across the back looks right. I would only install the newer version since if thecenter light bulb fails at least you still have lights back there. I cannot emphasize enough what a HUGE safety addition either version is....and looks good too IMHO John

I'm not sure about the new HD unit but the Kuryakyn unit DOES NOT require "dual filament" bulbs as stated above. That would require pulling an additional wire to the lights and replacing the sockets.
Yes, I use the same rear bulb, single filament, the module sends 7 volts to the same bulb as for running light I assume. Before I installed the module, I didn't even know it has the running light feature until I turn the key on.

Can anyone give a HD part # that makes the rear turn signals running lights for 2007 Sportster?
I have not found it on their web site.
I know it is not 68286-04, that is what I installed.
Thanks in advance...........
As far as I know, and I looked last night when I saw this, that new part for '05 up is not listed in the catalog, I found it while shopping around lookin mostly in the Dealership. Part number is 69468-06, as listed on Installation instructions, this part is for '04-up Sprtsters.

Right you are ******. I asked for it at the dealership and they didn't even know they had it. It's not in the catalogue. AND, it works on the '04 and newer. I have it one mine and it's great.
