I don't wear a helmet either- no law in Colorado. Probably not the smartest choice but I love the feeling of freedom riding without it.

No Law here but I feel compelled to wear one out of respect for my parents and family. Small price to pay for them not to worry so much and I catch less grief this way. And if I ever do get in an accident I don't want to feel like an idiot for not wearing one. Full face when cold or wet. half helmet for the summer.

Live in minnesota where you have the choice to wear or not. I think it is cool that they allow the individual to make that decission, that's how it should be. I wear mine everytime I ride and that's MY choice, no one elses. Oh by the way this past saturday morning the former local cheif of police here hit a deer on the highway, no helmet or leathers on, severe head injuries, broken ribs and punctured lungs, but at least it was his choice. The deer didn't make it, probably the lucky one.

I don't wear them, never have...

If you wear a helmet that's fine, if you don't wear one that's fine as well, as I would assume adults should be mature enough to make their own decisions.

What I don't like is when people on either side of the 'never ending helmet debate' try to shove their own opinion down the throat of others.

(I don't see that happening in this thread, but normally that is what ends up developing. Each group trying to make to other feel quilty, or like fools, for having an opinion that differs from their own).

I would wear mine even if there weren't any laws in Washington State about it. The reason is simple for me. I worked 10 years as a paralegal in an office that did Guardianships for incapacitated people,a fewof whom had head injuries due to not wearing helmets while riding.
Not pretty. So, for me its asimple choice.

I DObelieve that people should be allowed to chose for them selves.
