I haven't used the threads before now so I wanted to say hi. I have a new (to me) 05 1200c sportster that I love! yeah I get some **** over it here and there but I dont care I just love riding her!.
I'm not overly mechanically inclined, seriously, I cant even get the oil filler cap to go back on right! so when the clutch cable snapped last week I was a little apprehensive about replacing it but I managed to do it and the bike still runs!
Sorry for the rambling bit there but was still a bit happy I did it.
Brad
Welcome!

Welcome to the forum. A lot of good info and knowledge on here to help you along the way. It is always more satisfying to do it yourself...don't sell yourself short....it is not hard to learn to wrench a sporty. Enjoy the ride
Welcome to the forum from a barrier island in New Jersey, and congratulations on the '05 1200 Custom! I have an '05 1200 Roadster with the same oil tank as you and concluded from day one that the engineer who designed the cap had obviously had a lousy childhood, so don't feel badly.
