Cool P0118 Code, PLEASE HELP

I just joined and this is my first post so I hope I'm in the right place. I just finished 2009, 883 café build and have ran into problems. It starts up perfect but part way through it's warm up, just a few blocks when riding it starts falling on it's face when given any throttle. I can mess with it just maybe a minute or so and it clears out and runs good. here's the catch, it throws a P0118 code which is the temp sensor, that made perfect sense like it had a "dead zone", so I got one. Still runs like crap. The code will not clear either. A little more info, it has a free flowing exhaust and breather it didn't have before but why problems just in that one spot. PLEASE HELP ME

Is the code showing up because it's overheating? If you didn't re-tune with the free flowing intake and exhaust it's now running lean, and likely your issue...

Seeing as you recently had lots of stuff apart on it I would start by following the wires from the sensor looking for loose connections, pins pulled out of connectors, shorted wire etc.

Also your 09 is in the age where corrosion problems in the fuse box are common and cause all kinds of funky problems, pull your fuses and clean the tabs and the sockets they go into, also clean the tabs and sockets on the two square black relays in the fuse box too.

Default Still Looking

I just came in and saw your responses and I than you guys very much. I'm an ole carb guy. I just had it running up on a stand for maybe 3 mins and it started in, fall on it's face when the throttle moves any other than idle. I started wiggling wires trying to make it better or worse but nothing. Then I unplugged the rear o2 sensor just because that's where I was standing and it ran like a champ, idled down better to. I thought it idled to high anyway. It still shows the 0118 code that won't erase but that's it. with a heat gun it was only around 170F at the base of the plug. Any more thoughts?
