lighting/electrical question - rear
2012 Nightster with the factory 3 wire (RBT) side mounted tail lamps (no dedicated brake light in middle of fender).
Which wire does the brake signal go through? The signal or running light wire? I have a feeling the signal...
Thanks!
Under the seat, there is a 6 pin connector that isolates all of the lights. There is a brake signal on that harness. You won't be able to get just a brake signal at the back of the bike. When I converted over to LEDs, I tapped in to the wires after the RBT converter and it would cause hyperflash issues when I hit the brake with the turn signal on. I didn't realize the Nightster/48/72 still had an RBT module. I chased that issue for a few weeks.
