Randy hd here. Hello all, just joined up..im buiding 3 bikes currently. 78 shovel, 95 bagger and 74 sportster. focusing on the sportster rt now. anybody know if 1982 sportster cases will take 1981 motor internals and fit into a 1974 frame using early motor mounts?

'77-up crank internals will swap fine in to any 77-up cases.
As far as frame fitment goes, you won't be able to drop the motor in there. The newer 77+ gerotor "mini sump" does not clear the pre-77 frames. It can be done, but it requires frame modifications.
