Damn.[:@][:@][:@][:@]................................................ I thought this was going to be another one of them there "SHOW US WHAT YOU GOT" threads.
I had one on the Buell, it was fitted when I got the bike. When I took it off after a couple of years, grit had gathered underneath and scored the suface of the petrol tank cover. I can imagine if it had been painted metal (instead of plastic which I polished out)it would have made quite a mess.
So no Bra for me
Lev
PS I didnt vote as there was no 'I had a tank bra and think they are crap' option
I like mine it really looks good on the metallic yellow tank but I don't leave it on all the time. I have a thinner build so my belt is nowhere near the tank when I ride I assume that scratching the tank with their beltmight be a concern for some.
I'm short and pretty muchlean over the tank to reach the bars. The zippers from my jackets always would scratch th tank. Yes, the bra also scuffs the tank...but the bra covers the scuffs and it still looks better than scratches. If I had longer arms, I wouldn't have one though.

There was no 'I had a tank bra and think they are crap' option
I used to have a tank bra. I thought it looked good until I saw what the h*ll it was doing to my paint. I will never put another one on, and Iadvise that no-one puts one on.
BURN THE BRA.
Due to the tank bra, I now have an indention wore into my paint exactly where the edge of the bra wrapped around the top and sides of the tank. Luckily I was able to buff the paint back up enough to a shine, but there's still an indention in the paint.
And Whistle Dick, I'd hate to see the physique on the person who's belt or belt buckle rubs the tank on a Sportster, or any HD for that matter. But I know what you're meaning--Tank Bra's are for crotch rockets due to them leaning on the tank.
