i just installed a Bassani 2-1 exhaust and big sucker intake. If I lightly seat the adjustment screw the bike doesn’t shut off or if I open to 3 turns nothing’s seems to change either. Could this have something to do with my choke? The bracket where the **** is broke the day before installing these parts and wasn’t sure if that could be affecting something. I have my idle set at 1000. Bike is sluggish up to about 2500-3000 rpm and will cough occasionally..
Carb bike...need to adjust AFR via. jets when warm. Enricher (choke) being broken isn't helping b/c mount holds everything in place. Get that fixed first & then start working w/your fuel & air carb settings.

Do you have a owner's manual for the bike?
no I do not.. I will order a new cable and replace.. hopefully that will fix it
I'd up the idle a bit to 1100. If your idle mix screw is not changing the idle at 1000 RPM, it would lead me to believe you need to clean out the carb and install new "o" rings, seals, and accelerator pump diaphragm. About $20 for a rebuild kit.
As long as your choke rod is pushed in and seated on the cable it should not cause an issue. Not a "cough" at least. Running too rich would be the likeliest problem if enrichener is partially open.
There are a lot of Youtube videos on carb rebuild. It's quite easy, most all motorcycle carbs are similar.
