No worries, bro. There is a lot of knowledge on this forum and it is sometimes difficult to try and diagnose a problem, much less translate terminology in to something we can use to help you. Luckily, some of use are multi lingual.

Here, try this site, Ronnie's HD Microfiche. I went to the Carburetor section for 1992 Sportster. It has all the part names as used by Harley.

http://partsfinder.onlinemicrofiche....TOR%20ASSEMBLY

Please note: Your idle mixture screw is not shown. It is set at the factory and a small metal cup placed over it's location. It is on the bottom of your carburetor near the end that goes into the intake manifold. You may have to use a small sheet metal screw to remove it so you can remove the screw, spring, seal, and washer to clean out the pilot jet circuit passages.

BTW, I have a 1991 so it's almost identical to your bike.

It sounds like your pilot jet or idle mixture screw are clogged and you need to clean out the passages with some carb cleaner and reassemble. Carb mix screw should be set at 2.5 turns out from gently seated.

Again, there is NO PRESSURE applied to the fuel tank on any Harley ever made. If anything, it is a vent line for gasoline vapors.

well alrighty then, that changes things, looks like i better go back to the 1980 and figure out what hell the line coming off the back of the generator is then... jesus... it looks like fuel line, it was the same length of the fuel line with the same kind of connection as the fuel line.. when i started on the bike it was just an engine with the wiring in shreds.. so its been crazy trying to piece it together but i thought id finally figured it out... but it looks like ive really screwed up... i just went and check the oil tank, and good god if it isnt full of gas... go ahead laugh it up lol.. i kinda am, but in a grim kinda way... jesus. ok so........ i need to.. prolly hire a mechanic,, but **** that lol... anyway... good god i need to get this gas out of the oil. how am i gonna do this guys? yes i started it and let it idle for like 3-4 mins with obv... gas running through my,, oil pump? im guessing? im not sure what the hell it was or is...but its obviously not mean to hook up to the ****ing gas tank.. yep i need help forreal now lol

Please post up a picture of what you are talking about. Use imgur.com and copy the img code when you post.

On your 1980, that line from the top of the camshaft cover (not back of generator) is a vent line to your aircleaner. It just vents built up air pressure inside the crankcase when the pistons go up and down. Now, if someone left your gas petcock on, and the float jammed, fuel could flow into the crankcase. So, if that happened, you should dump the oil and start with fresh. Also, when a Sportster sits, oil will collect in the case a well, it leaks past the oil pump from the tank into the camshaft case area. Always run the engine until warm to change oil. That way all the oil has been pumped back to the tank so you get a complete oil drain.
