It's safe to say early May but I would be riding this weekend except for a last minute snow storm that is coming out of nowhere on Sunday, supposed to drop 15cm on us. They've been out salting the highways all day today. So now it looks like maybe a week from now for riding weather and no salt.
End of Oct starts to be cold.
I drove from here to Daytona in 4 days many years ago.... from La to here would be longer. It'd be one long ride.
My longest trip was to California, 1900 miles, (about 3,060 kms) one way. I did it in three days. From Houston to San Diego was mostly empty except for San Antonio. Houston is like driving in Los Angeles.
I would like to go to Canada but I know my wife couldn't take a long trip. She doesn't like long car trips, much less on a bike. I could send her by plane and meet me once I arrive. It would be easier for us both that way.
Sounds like a h*ll of a trip. If anyone ever plans to come to NS from the US, I'd recommend using the ferry from Maine to NS. It cuts out having to ride through New Brunswick to get here. Trust me when I say that's a good thing. ( no offence to anyone from NB )
There are online resources for touring NS and the surrounding area: here is one: https://www.motorcycletourguidens.com/
They have an app to download at the top of the page.... I don't know how useful it is or how many ads are in it but they put a lot of time into it.
At the end of August, there is the Wharf Rat Rally in Digby. It is very well attended and a large party for bikers in a medium sized fishing town. Digby scallops are the best in the world... the seafood here is excellent.
