Anyone know if a brake pedal for a Softail would work in a similar way to twisty571's mod?? I'm planning on going with the flames collection of accessories and have yet to find anything for a Sporty. I did however find a small pedal on eBay. Any thoughts?
not sure how the softail mounts exactly off hand and don't know what size bit either,we just grabbed 1 that looked real close to what we needed and went to town. Not sure if all bolts are the same on all pegs so I guess that would depend on what you buy Start smaller
I purchased the chrome and rubber Kuryka brake pad cover for my 07XL..it fit great and was made for the bike.
It was not as wide the one you listed but it did come back a little farther than the stock one, fit like a glove and I had a number of people comment on how good it looked.

Picked up a flamed brake pedal pad for an FX model at the stealer today. Drilleda hole in the existing pad, filed the underneath flat, put a couple of rubber pads on the bottom of the pedal and cranked it down with a little locktite and a lock washer in place of the flat washer included in the kit. Seems to be very solid and difficult to twist out of position. Next are the flame footpegs.
I have been considering adding the Willie G Skull Pedal to compliment the rest of the gear already ordered, but the stealer talked me out of it...I hadn't even thought of just drilling straight in...
That will work...
Does the standard HD custom pedal have a bolt that comes as standard, I couldn't see into the pack at the stealer; everything is all wrapped up...how exactly would a softail pedal be pre-configured ? The new pedal will be going on a 2000 Sporty..
Does anyone have any tips ? I want to make sure I do it right...
I am thinking a good solid hole drilled through, sanded down to flat, and then a little rubber underneath to make it flush, use a lockable washer for a little extra grip....Anything else I need to consider ?
I checked out a few yesterdY AT THE DEALER the ones with a thro bolt worked the ones with a female and a screw didnt. But I could have made the female work by enlarging the hole in the stock brake ped... It was the flamed ped that needed a bigger hole BTW.
also the dealer let me take it outside and open the package.
