I was looking at some accessories you can buy that run 12v EG: Heated glove inserts., The article said that most new motorcycles have 12v auxillary socket to plug into.
Can anyone tell me if the 07 sportster's have one as i couldn't find one on the bike or in the owners manual,
cheers Bretho.
My 2005 XL1200R came with a pigtail connection for a Battery Tender hook-up and this can be used as a 12V tap if your bike came with one as well. Mine is located on the left side behind the rear cylinder just on top of the engine case...
No, that's something you'll find from the factory on BT's. You can however make one. The attached picture is of a harness that commonly comes with a battery tender. You hook if to the battery terminals and route the wires up through the frame so that the plug end extends out just under the edge of the seat. This plug is how you would normally connect the charger.
You can get a mating plug at most auto parts stores and a cigarette lighter socket from radio shack. Cut off the excess wire from the new plug & lighter socket and solder up the connections.
