Default 2003 XL1200C teardrop saddlebags

Hello..
Looking for assistance regarding Sportster saddlebags.
Harley part numbers stamped inside each of the bags are 79056-01 / 79077-01 (right side bag) and 79055-01 / 79076-01 (left side bag).
What year and model Sportsters will these fit?? I can find no help online anywhere!
I have a 2003, 100th anniversary edition, XL1200C. The holes in the built in U shaped bracket line up, but the cut out for turn signals doesn’t line up. Is there a difference in the distance between the screws in the fender rail on the 883 compared to the 1200C?
thanks

The bags are correct for your bike, you need the turn signal relocation kit #68485-04. That kit is now obsolete thru H-D, but if you call a few close dealers they may still have the kit.

Try these dealers:
Harley-Davidson of Eastgate Cincinnati
P-513-528-1400
F-513-528-8291

Baxter Harley-Davidson Bidwell
P-740-446-6336
F-740-446-0015

Jim's Harley-Davidson Sales Mendon
P-419-795-4185
F-419-795-3008

Western Reserve Harley-Davidson Mentor
P-440-974-6900
F-440-974-6911

Harley-Davidson Center Richmond
P-765-962-0596
F-765-966-5716

Brandt's Harley-Davidson Wabash
P-(260) 563-6443
F-(260) 569-1159

Good Luck!

Default Thanks, but

some online sites say that part number will work except for 1200’s. Others say works for all XL’s except 1200 Sport. So, if I find one I hope it works- it should since mine is a 1200C. I also have Harley side plates for detachable sissy bar back rest. Hope that doesn’t throw a curve into the mix.

You may be misreading 1200S as "1200's" ... which then would saying the same thing as your second statement ... "Others say works for all XL’s except 1200 Sport."

Otherwise it wouldn't make much sense

Default Did you ever figure this out?

I have the exact same bike and set of bags. I figured out you have to move or delete the rear signals. Did you ever find a work around with the detachable sissybar? The guy I got them from asured me they would work but I am starting to think I'm screwed

79056-01 79077-01 Do these bags fit ONLY the older models, or are they universal with the turn signal/plate relocation kit? I'm trying to sell these and need accurate fitment information. Any help is appreciated!
