Default Adding a tack

I have a 2005 883 low. It does not have a tack. If I put a roadster tack on it do I just buy the tack, bracket, and wiring harness? Will the harness just plug in to the existing plug?

You also need a bottom rubber ring (cushion) for the bottom of the tach (P/N 67344-97) and a top one (P/N 67345-97). They are two black rubber circles that will hold the tach snug inside the bracket. Your speedo already has them, go look.

The OEM bracket is black. If you want a shiny metal bracket, you need an aftermarket one. I used the one from Drag Specialties (DS). Here is an example:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/DS-Dual-Ins...f6q:rk:30:pf:0

The DS bracket comes with 2 shiny round backing plates that bolt to the undersides of the tach and the speedo. If you buy the OEM bracket, you also need to buy the OEM backing plate for the tach, P/N 67103-95. I'm not sure whether it's black or not.

You also need two screws (P/N 2361) to bolt the backing plate to the underside of the tach.

You should also insert washers between the bracket and the handlebar clamp. You can either get them from the dealership (two P/N 6702 and two P/N 6109) or generic ones from Home depot.

Yes. When you get the harness from your dealership just make sure all three ends have all the necessary socket housings otherwise you will also need to buy them from the dealership. If you tell the dealership that you want everything so you can just plug the harness in, they should be able to figure out exactly what's needed.

HTH.

Yup, going that route will give you a more modern and streamlined look compared to the Mickey Mouse ears.

Check that it will work with an 05. Some of the features may not work. gear indicator, for example won't work on below 08. fuel gauge function works on 07-up.
