Default Speedo relocation

Good day
I have a 2007 sportster 1200 custom, the speedometer is attached to the risers and is behind the handle bars, I want to raise the tank and change the bars, is there a kit available to install the speedo in front of the bars, I do not want it off to the side or on the forks? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There are a number of threads addressing this. Here are a few:

I may be doing this in the Spring as well, but I'll probably just use the Joker Machine front fork solution as it seems to be the most straight forward, albeit a bit more expensive.

I did it with a cheap Chinese bracket that I altered, on the risers I used the upper indicator clamp from Joker Machine.

If you are interested in more pictures, you can see them trough the link in my sig.... just browe to the Iron website.

I wouldn't say theres a "kit", but when I switched to 4.5" pullback risers, I ditched the all-in-one handlebar clamp/speedo mount
(otherwise it'd look goofy sticking straight up) for the "old-style" guage mount. I used cable-clamps on the risers and positioned
it where I could see it nicely. Here's a few pics;

I’m thinking of doing the same conversion soon on my 06. I’ve thought of the route that WKNDS mentioned or even just tucking it next to the gas tank on the front bolt. Although visibility may be an issue.

i too looked at moving it to upper clamp for my tank lift....didnt like it and all i had to do to get to work..........so i got the Autometer clamp, like 20bucks and mounted on side, yes visibility can be an issue for some, dont bother me tho, i can see it till bout 50ish mph

That’s where I’m at. As long as I can see 30-40 to get to work, I’m happy.

For anyone looking to get rid of the ugly stock riser setup on the 04-06 custom for ape hanger installs, there's a cheaper way and the speedo isn't sticking up so much as it is with the 55846-05A setup a lot are doing.
By using the older top clamp 56074-96($56 @ finditparts), the shorter incandescent indicator light assembly snaps right in eliminating that cost and then use a separate single gauge mount(169387 made by bikers choice) that includes the backplate($42.84 @ chromeworld) and mount it on the triple tree right in front of the risers usi g the 2 bolts for the headlight mount on some models. Mine just hold a chrome cover on the triple tree.
Buy the risers of your choice, the speedo back cushion, a few screws/bolts and you're around $150(as opposed to $250) give or take a few bucks and your speedo isn't sticking up in the air as much between the bars.
The single gauge bracket could also be attached to the 56074-96 top clamp and end up with the same look as the all in one 55846-05A but still eliminate the need for the harness and indicator light assembly.
I knew there had to be a better way and I spent a couple days and came up with this. I just got everything together and haven't installed yet or I'd post pics. The 56704-96 came stock on the 03 Custom with a separate bracket putting the Speedo where it is now. I just moved the Speedo out front.
This clamp is getting harder to find tho.

I got to thinking a little more about this mod. Does the bolt pattern on the '07 top bar mount lineup with standard risers? I know other Sportster bolt holes are offset, but didn't know if the Custom's were in line. If so, a person could just exchanging risers, using the same top clamp. Essentially a 2003 XLC setup, but for the '07.
