High idle question

High idle question
Took a quick ride around town to cool off after mowing the yard last night. Probably 50 or so miles added to the 2014 Custom this season so far due to rain. On this little ride the idle went up and wouldn't came back down. I'm talking around 2500rpm's while riding and up to near 4000 when the clutch was pulled. I went ahead and rode it a couple miles this way out on the open road to see if things changed. At last I shut the engine off and just pulled over the the side of the road. After about 5 seconds I restarted and all was back to normal again.... It does have stage 1 installed and has done great for the past couple years. Any ideas ?

Have you checked the adjustment and lubrication of your throttle cables - theyre quite easy to adjust. V easy to see unless you have the big dish standard body on your air cleaner but whatever, at the throttle body end, check the throttle is fully closing - you should hear it snap close.

You can also check for intake vacuum leaks. This can also affect idle until your computer compensates for the lean condition.
Feels like I am repeating myself....there must be another high idle thread recently. Find out from that thread if the OP resolved his issue.
