I have a 1200 2002 XL that has been sitting without being started for the better part of 9 years! It has a couple issues that I'll be posting later but as of now I noticed there's no or no visible oil in the bike when i parked it it was full or close to.
Any ideas where the oil could be and what would i do before firing this thing up?
I was thinking obviously changing the oil or whats left of it, putting some seafoam in the gas to break up the old gas and maybe oil or a shot of seafoam in the cylinder in case the piston is seized?
Thanks

The oil leaked from the oil tank down in the case. Don't add oil as it will be way over full. They all do that when left sitting. When started it pumps back into the oil tank.
you need to get the oil back into the tank before you can drain it … once the oil is back into the tank you can install the spark plugs and run it a little to get the oil warm … it drains easier when warm …
