Do I have to wave back at scooter (mopeds)?
Couple things I like about scooters:
1. Seeing older couples riding together. Wife usually looks like she is LOVING it. Husband looks like he wishes he was dead.
2. Pulling up to work in the morning and parking next to the 250+ lb. guy riding a little 50cc. (Iride a1200... GOD MY LIFE IS GOOD.) They never make eye contact, instead they steal the occasional glance and you can tell they're thinking.... f*ck. I hope when we walk away, everyone thinks the scooter is hers.
Cut them some slack, they're having fun, saving money on gas and you know they're imagining themselves on a Harley!
Wow! Seriously, I've had someone on a regular basis wave to me on a scooter, I don't care, I wave back. Like jeramy said, I don't like to initiate it cause it's often never returned, be it metric, standard, scooter, skateboard, or pedestrian

American, Indian, Mexican, African, Asian, European, Canadian, etc.
If they're on two wheels and they wave at me, I will always wave back when safe.
When I was a lad you had a moped at sixteen,a 250 at seventeen then you had to pass your test.....thats why I reckon there's a lot of posts on here about Americans falling off their Harleys when they've just bought them.
Never did the moped/scooter thing. (Even tho you purists out there would call the Suzuki 80 a scooter. Sure felt like a "real" bike back then)
I did get a real sh*tty look giving a wave to some guy on a metric cruiser, outfittedwith the standard Harley wannabe pipesand uglygirlfriend package ...what a tool!
I was a metric rider, so I always wave to the metrics...around here it's hard to get a wave from anyone on a Harley (West Central Wisconsin).
