Iron 883 primer issue
Hey everyone! I just bought a 2016 iron 883 about a month ago from a dealer. It had a 1000 miles on it when i bought it and they told me they just did the service on it. Now a month later I'm having problems with the primer. When i start the bike the primer stays on. It happens when it's pretty warm outside (95-100) i live in bakersfield so it gets pretty warm. At first i thought it was some sort of vapor lock but i mess with my gas tank and took my cap off before starting the bike and even while the bike was running but the primer would not shut off. When i ride early mornings this does not happen. This is my first bike and I'm not that handy with them so can someone help a brotha out?? Thanks!!!!

By the primer I'm guessing you mean the fuel pump. Well, the fuel pump is always running when the bike is running, otherwise the bike will stop running. You might want to check the fuel line inside the tank for signs of a leak, happens a lot.

Have the dealer check your fuel pump, it's inside the tank like cars and trucks. If it's continually whining, it could be failing. I'm not sure you get "vapor lock" with EFI as the fuel system is under high pressure and resists boiling, but, I could be wrong. Carbureted systems for sure, as fuel is not pressurized and boils easy.
