Someone pointed out to me today that my oil cap should be flush with the cover.(maybe that's why itkeeps popping up on me). I do the 1/4 turn and then push it down like the manual says to, but it's not flush. Also when I do the 1/4 turn it really doesn't seem to click or anything. Shouldn't it kinda lock it self so it doesn't accidently vibrate out. Anyone have any suggestions

You just got to fark with it. It's the worst designed cap on the market and a real pain, but after a while you'll get the hang of it.

If you replace it with the HD analog temp. dipstick you won't have that problem. The stock MoCo dipstick is a pain in the a$$.

You have to turn it till you think it's going to break to get it in position where the cap will pop down flush, scared the hell out of me the first time I tried it I figured I was doing something wrong.
