Default Commander II

My 2 cents,
I weigh in at around 120 LB, 65-75% highway. commuting to/from work
using the Commander II's, I get 10-15k out of the rear, and 15-20k off the front.
these are averages I've checked since 2012, 3-4 changes.
I'm also a semi aggressive rider, never had any issues when wet

How was your wear mileage, handling (wet and dry) and groove tracking?

Unfortunately, I sold the bike a year later so I can't really say on mileage but 5000 miles and still looked new on that bike. Handling was amazing. Best wet handling I have ever had. No groove tracking at all. That is a main concern around here due to grooved concrete on the interstate. Not having the center groove on the tire makes tracking so much better.

Commander II's. Tires track well, even on grooved pavement. I ride wet or dry, any tire can be made to break loose in the rain, these are great, even when riding over painted lines they're solid. With 90 horse and 883 gearing the rear will not break free on dry pavement. I have 12000 hard miles on mine, they are barely showing wear at this point. I actually am surprised to say I expect to get 20K out of the pair. I run them with tubes, front at 38psi, rear at 40psi and stiff suspension settings

Thanks Trumpet
Do you run tubes because you have spoked rims or by choice?

My GF and I both ride Deluxes with the Avon Cobras (non-Chrome). We both like them as they are sticky and are quiet and comfy on the ride. The Cobras are nearing 11K and ready to change out. We'll be getting the Cobra Chromes, which are the replacements of the original Cobras. Suppose to be better rubber with better mileage and performance. My '11 Sporty Custom still has the Scorchers, but will change to the Chromes soon.

On the Roadriders, Avon has them as an X-Ply. If you ever need to change out the front only, I think Avon recommends having an X-ply tire, as bias or radials for the front is a no-no with an X-ply on the rear. But check with Avon to be sure.
