I am fast approaching the service interval which includes the crazy procedure of checking for 'fall away' of the steering, I'm sure most of you know what i am talking about.
My questions are:
1. Doyou do it?
2. Do you say 'it ain't broke, don't mess with it'
3. Let the dealer do it and wonder if it was done properly or at all
I have no problems at all with the steering or front end wobble, so I am curious what the general population does?

That goes against the whole idea of doing the maintenance at the service intervals. Like jkelley said, it's easy. Just make sure the bike is level and nothing is pushing/pulling the front end in any certain direction (e.g. clutch cable, etc).
