Back to the original post...
I don`t use them, because I don`t have a socket or wrench that fits the nut...

The subject of your post was the moco denying warranty claims due to use of non oem oil or filters, period.

You really need to read all the words in a post before breaking a banjo string over it.

Back to the subject, sort of...

Anyone using Wix filters knows that the OEM filter is not the same outside diameter, so obviously a different wrench is needed.

The filter that fits on the Wix is a 72mm-15 flute.

It appears that the only outfit making these is Parts Unlimited.

Cool

After break in using HD Moco Oil filters on an Ultima 127" El Bruto engine, I used a chrome KN filter. Boy did I learn a lot. Oil began sumping immediately. Turns out that the 127 had a high volume oil pump and the K & N filter was too restrictive. 20 microns as I recall. Oil came out of the breather tube, and I couldn't keep engine oil in the tank. KN filters more dirt, but their filters are more restrictive. My oil bypass must have been opening to accommodate the pressure backup. There is one built into the filter, and one in the pump I believe. I went back to a factory oil filter and all my problems stopped. I think the OEM Oil filters are at 40 microns.
I will never use cheap filters to save a dollar or two. The last filter in the world I would put on my Harley (or car) is a Fram. Just watch any video where they open up a Fram filter and do a comparison to other filters construction. When you see the internal construction of a Fram filter using cardboard where others use steel, you will be amazed that they cost as much as they do. There are other alternatives to Harley-Davidson for the self exiled consumer. Do your research and due diligence.

There are many videos like this. FF to the 2 minute mark where the filters are cut open. The really cheap one doesn't even have a bypass valve. This video is short and to the point. Some are way too long IMHO.

Here's another video that's longer, but more inclusive of other brands.

Don't forget the longer Oil filter Harley made for the Dyna back in the 90's. (mentioned above earlier) OEM HD-63813-90 It was to make up for diminished capacity in the Oil tank in the Dyna line starting in 1990. Any Evo with room for the longer filter could retrofit and add capacity. I don't know how, or if it runs any cooler though. It's only about 1/3rd qt. But extra capacity is never a bad thing. Harley still sells them and I still use them. Just ask for the extended chrome or black oil filter for a 1990 Dyna. Drag Specialties also makes and sells them. Theirs have a magnetic ring inside them to catch metal filings.

We have a thing here in the US called the Magnusson Moss Federal warranty act. This prevents dealers from saying you have to use their filters and fluids to keep your warranty. It even states if Harley requires you to use their oil filters, they have to give it to you for free.

"The cheaper the better."
Could anything be more untrue..? Especially when it comes to Oil filters. By using that mentality, it's also cheaper to stretch out your oil changes. Add a few thousand miles. It's a lot cheaper that way. Right?
And Cheaper Oil filters are just that. CHEAP! You get what you pay for, and if saving a buck is that important, then you probably don't need to buy a Harley.
