fork oil drain problem

fork oil drain problem
Anyone have problems draining a fork? I started replacing my fork oil and the first one went well. I get the second fork and nothing came out - I thought it was dry but I only added about 5 ounces then it started over flowing....I capped off the spring and removed the drain screw again but nothing comes out still. Also, does a 1200 custom have a dry or wet fork? The book says to add 9 to 10.2 ozs of fluid depending on the fork type...I started with 9ozs.

Try gently poking in the drain hole with a tooth pic or something to see if it is just blocked, maybe a bit of plastic or paper got in there when it was built or the last time the fluid was changed.

I poked around with a toothpick but it wasn't going in very far so I took a small allen wrench and poked some more then the fluid started coming out. I'm not sure if it was aluminum flashing blocking the hole but it was definitely clogged.
