Hii everyone. I'm new to the forum and this is my first harley. I've just bought a 1200 sportster. The dipstick won't click shut. The guy I bought it off had taken the spring out. The I put the spring back in but the cap wouldn't click shut or line up... I put a smaller o ring in and now the cap lines up but still won't click shut.. Is it broken or is there a fix... Thanks for any advice.

Those caps are crap, best fix is the analog temperature gauge, much easier to install and remove, looks cool, and gives you the oil temperature which is interesting, don't buy the LED one though there have been lots of reports of leaks with those.
Thanks for your reply. They do look great.. I'm in the UK. I looked on ebay but can only find a cheap version from china. Do you have a link to one please. Thanks. [/QUOTE]
