I have a 1996 883 with 1200 kit on it. It's been running ok, but will shut off. It will start back up, but it stopped today, won't start. It turns over, new plugs, battery is good and tight. I'm not getting spark on plugs. I put multimeter on coil terminals, not getting anything to coil, help please!

need more information ... what were you doing when it shut off, running down the road or sitting letting it idle ... have you or anyone done anything recently to the bike ... do all lights work ... is your fuel petcock turned to the ON position ...
Hi from the UK and welcome to HDF. Your bike has circuit breakers, not fuses, which if they overheat will cut out, then reset after a time. When your engine shuts off, it is quite likely the CB cuts in due to over-heating, then cools down, so you can restart.
To help us to help you, turn the ignition on, don't attempt to start the engine, but tell us what actually works, such as horn, lights, indicators. Does your bike have non-stock handlebars or any other mods done to it? Be aware that a common problem is pinching a wire when refitting the handlebar switches, which can cause intermittent or constant electrical faults.
