I purchased a 2017 Iron and it does not have front turn signals on it. how can I mount new ones and maybe re-wire them? not sure of old wires are still on bike.
First, get a Service Manual f/ your bike & review electrical schematics f/ wire connections + color.
Second, look for wires (as located fm schematic).
Third, go to your HD Parts dept & order.
Fourth, install.
Done!
They connect under the gas tank from the manufacturer so youre going to want to remove the gas tank to find them. If you plan to work on your bike I highly recommend, as many others do, that you get the factory service manual. if you only plan on doing this one thing and you arent a hands on person (but then wiring probably isnt something you should be doing) then google can get you by.
PS: Id go for the harley manual over the clymers, I have seen too many major issues flagged in clymers manual like telling people to turn the crank the wrong direction for valves (suzuki ls650). I just always second guess whats in the clymers, the HD one I take as a bible.
Here is a picture from my 2014 manual. I have read "6 inch down from neck under the gas tnak" but that was before canbus so it may be a bit different but thats where the wiring will run.
