There is a pair of... I think 14 or 15 eye steel toe Docs I have always wanted, but when i got my bike and at the MTF course they said it may be harder to shift with steel toe boots on...

Tommo... I'm afraid to ask, but what does a pair of Docs cost you?

Never had a problem with laces while riding, but did have an incident with a loose lace hanging up on a footpeg while rolling the bike. It's just like anything else that can go wrong--best to kick the tires and check the laces before heading out. I also like the feel of the steel toed boots with my mid controls. They are very comfy-- a must on long rides.

I wear a size 8.5 boot and have tried different brands can't find anything that allows me to get my toe under the shifter lever comfortably, I now am wearing Carolina hikeing boots.

i wear timberland steel toe half boots to work and they also double as my riding boots. for those that have problems with laced boots getting hung on pegs, find the little screw cap containers that are placed over a toddlers laces, the ones that keep the little tykes from untieing their shoes !!!!!!!!!
