going to look at a 1991 1200 Sportster for an around town bike.
He says it has 12K miles but has taken the spedo off, mini apes, Chrome primary and timing covers, straight pipes. Hes asking $2,500
New to sporsters, but not Harleys anything I should look for?

Missing speedo/ odometer could be a concern.
You could check the date code of the tires.
Maybe another co-member can comment how to verify mileage, beside looking for wear marks.
The bike has some accessories and I might assume it was "loved".
You could ask for service records for care and to help deduce mileage.
