Did you ever notice how many parts have metric threads?
If America fully adopted the metric system then stuff would still be American.

I didn't say that it wouldn't, but metric threads are a pretty good indicator. I'm not taking sides because I like both systems. The SAE threads are stronger but the finer metric threads have their purposes as well. As far as American vs. Metric systems are concerned, that ship has sailed. I have a Honda Shadow with SAE threads on factory parts and metric threads on factory parts. All of it was made in America. There is an old Sportster parked right beside it and I love them both.

I have a friend with a Mini Cooper that was designed by BMW, assembled in the UK, with a Chrysler engine built in Argentina. Yet, he says it is a British car. No Whitworth threads on it, either. He gets angry when I tell him that it isn't a "real" Mini. It really is a good car but I wouldn't dare tell him that; I enjoy rattling his cage.

As I said above, I don't care where a vehicle was made. I like them all. These silly rivalry "gangs" make me laugh. If you're riding and having fun, what's the big deal what you're riding or driving?

I think without even looking at other posts the OP was to start a bickering match or looking for attention.

I will agree on what a "real" Mini is, I had one.

I certainly cannot make comment on any other HD bike as I have only ridden a Sportster and it is a very fine motorcycle indeed.

ETA: What I should of put is it doesn't have to be foreign to use a metric thread.

My XL883 has a hemi head.

If you put of these beside a challenger, would these sound like your son's Hemi V8?

It's all relative really . One of these bikes was manufactured 4.8 miles away from my house in a place called Meriden which is regarded to be the Heart of England . The other is a foreign import .
