Carb or ignition
I have a 1988 sportster 1200 with a 1340 stroker kit cammed out. Im having a problem and have heard a couple different things. I tore the bike down to motor and frame this winter and put a new tank and fenders, clutch, and stator in it. I also had the carb rebuilt. When i put the new tank on i had to relocate the ignition. when i got the carb back it had stock jets back in it and the motor isnt close to stock. Before i messed with it i could rev it to about 3 grand then it would die like it was gettin robbed of fuel so i put the old main jet back in there. It helped outa little but it still cuts out like crazy.Ive talked to people and some think its the carb like me , some think its the ignition, and others think its the charging system. Im thinkin about buying a S&S E carb with intake and manifold but i want to get the problem fixed before i spend 400 bucks on the carb kit. If you have any ideas or suggestions i would really appreciate them. THANKS

I"ll offerwhat would simply be a guess without hearing or seeing the Bike. Sorry, wish I could help, about all I can say is, if it were electrical, I think it would be a constant problem, not one that is only at a certain point or rpm, however, like I said only a guess.
