I knew he was not the original owner. I also found out the reason he didn't ride it and has to sell. He bought it in January then got a dui in February so he is not allowed to drive for over a year. Apparently his dad took it out once in awhile just to get it moving. Everything else on the bike seems fine. Rides good, starts and runs great. Its just the mystery button lol.

Is it a momentary switch, or on/off? That might give you a clue as to it's function. What color are the wires where it enters the harness? Does it look like the wires were part of the original harness? You can get a wiring diagram in color from H-D. See if the colors correspond to anything on the wiring diagram.
