I'll take a look, thanks.
I can't imagine how one controls a bike like that Suzuki. When I gun it on my Harley it feels like I'll get left behind if I don't hang on for dear life :-)
You don't gun it , that's how . You slightly tense up your hand to go fast . At 100 mph+ you are at about 4000 rpm and running on a whiff of throttle . You only crank the throttle on a Hypersports bike if you are drag racing or trying to hit 160 + . Maybe you're just heavy handed .
Remember that with a CV carb ( or four ) you are simply feeding suggestions to a mechanically automated fuel metering system .
Thanks for the tip. If anyone knows about one that works with the Sportster let me know. The G2 Tamer Throttle doesn't seem to be available for the Sportster and I couldn't find any others either.
Is your Sportster completely stock or does it have a stage 1 ? i.e. loud pipes and open airbox? If it is a stage 1, did you get a tuning box with it? only reason for asking is most tuning boxes offer the option of something to change the reaction of the throttle, from stock to very aggressive (Throttle progressivity) . Some like to have the aggressive option but most find it too jittery and causes symptoms similar to what you describe.
If you have a stock bike disregard the above.

My Sportster 1200T throttle seems too sensitive, turning it just a little makes the bike take off. How can this be fixed? I'm wondering if perhaps I'm just too light, 160 lbs, for a bike with this much power?
Like some mentioned, I simply had to give it some time for me to get used to the bike. I've ridden about 2000 miles since I got it in late August and eventually I acclimated to it. I didn't do anything special, I'm just used to it now and I'm able to control it. In fact I can actually picture me getting an even more powerful bike someday, as I can now feel the limitations of the 1200 (I wish I could get the Sportster S for the extra fun, but keep my 1200 Superlow Touring for weekends trips). Thanks for all the tips though, appreciate your helpfulness!
