I gotta say...I have always jumped all of my bikes with a running car or truck. Never had any problems either. I start the car or truck then place the j.cables to the vehicle and then to the bike. Starts right up from a dead battery. Although carrying a portable jump system is good to have

The companies who make the jump starters are buying hobby grade lithium batteries and even keeping the blue connector. That connector is only rated to 150Amps which is why it is quite important to not run the starter motor for than a few seconds.
